These are three of a series of twelve pages created to run throughout the year leading up to the 100th anniversary of the Wright brothers' first flight. I came up with the idea, consulted our aviation reporter and decided which planes to highlight, researched and wrote the copy, either drew or built models of the planes
 (I also photographed them and added details in Photoshop) created whatever graphics were appropriate, then designed and built the pages in FreeHand and InDesign.
The smaller graphics of the cockpit and shuttle with boosters are by graphic artist extraordinaire John Hancock.
